Hi there!
After almost 10 years I thought my website deserved a different look. It also has a new address (www.marcilio-mendonca.com) that I hope to be more intuitive for many of you. The idea of the site didn't change though, i.e., it intends to somehow connect you, the visitor, and I through the content you will eventually bump into. Whether you are a relative, a friend, or just a curious visitor, I welcome you to this little spot in the gigantic cyberspace.
During the years this website has been up I had for many times to address the following question: Why do you need a website? What's the point? Well, one thing I can tell you for sure is that every single penny invested here was worth it. I've made many friends, had the opportunity to help people interested in computer science, or to move to Waterloo or to settle at the University of Waterloo. Also, many old friends who were completely gone were able to find me through this site. How pleasant it was to meet them again. My family, on the other hand, is constantly checking my photos and sending warming messages. And so on, and so forth... The content of this website is sometimes too technical and boring for some of you but my hope is that the "Blog" section will give it a good balance.
I don't know, it's just fascinating to be part of this universe called internet. I was so lucky when I made the decision to become a computer scientist. Btw, if you are still deciding whether this would be a good career to follow I can certainly give you some tips and show you the many possibilities the career offers you. Drop me a message.
Anyways, it's good to have you here and hopefully this website will somehow inspire you.
